Dear Au Pair, We are a happy loving family living in Oxfordshire. We live in a village which is 5 minutes away from both Didcot and Abingdon where there is a cinema, leisure center and all the usual attractions of a town. We are also between Reading and Oxford which are both large cities with lots of History, we are 40 mins by train from London. Charlotte is 10, she is a very affectionate and easy child. She plays the clarinet and loves music. She is quite shy and very easy going. William is 8, he is a real chatterbox. Again he is very loving, he is a typical boy so has lots of energy! He is learning to play the guitar and plays Rugby every Sunday for one of the Oxford teams. We have an adorable labrador puppy called Katie who lives in the house and two rabbits who live outside the house. We would like you to help with dog walking during the week but we go on family walks at the weekend to exercise her, you would be welcome to join us. There is a very good language school in Abingdon which has a very high Au Pair attendance. It is a good way to get to know other local Au Pairs. It is important to us that you are an experienced and safe driver. You will have sole use of the car and we are happy for you to use this in your spare time. Duties are as follows: * Wake the children in the morning and get them ready * Help the children to tidy their rooms and make their beds * Prepare breakfast and lsnack for the children * Clean up breakfast dishes * Make sure children have books and homework for school * Drive children to/from school * Whilst the children are at school we would like you to clean the house, * Walk the dog * Assist the children with their homework, initiate and supervise play * Help the children with their bath routine and help get them ready for bed We try to give you at least two weeks holiday at Christmas sometimes 3 and as a Christmas bonus pay your airfare home - although one of our previous au pairs preferred to stay and spend Christmas with us as part of our family - this was lovely! We are very keen that our au pair interacts with us as a family and joins in with us, although of course you are welcome to your own private time too. On Friday nights we always have film night and cuddle up on the sofa together and watch a film - we find this a nice way to start the weekend when we are all tired. You also have the opportunity to make additional money by cleaning my parents home once a week - as the children are out at school during the day you will have plenty of time to fit this in along with language school. This, however, entirely optional it is up to you if you would like to do this or not. We hope to hear from you soon Regards Paula, Charlotte and William |
