Alexander is adorable, has no dietary or health requirements and sleeps well through the night until at least 7.30am after his morning bottle. Alexander goes to nursery two full days a week, a toddler group once a week and a nursery rhyme singing group once a week, all within 15mins walk. We live right on the waterfront at the River Forth in Edinburgh with beautiful views across the water to Fife. From our two floors of windows you can see boats of all sorts sailing past and the sun setting behind the Forth Road Bridge. We have wonderful neighbours with children and grandchildren who regularly pop in to play. Right next door is a David Lloyd gym with indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, etc. This does however require membership. 5 mins away is an indoor climbing centre and Newhaven Harbour with restaurants, pubs with live music, shops and cafes. We have a beautiful park just 15 mins walk away and a large shopping centre just 20 mins walk away which has many shops, restaurants, cafes, children's soft play and multiplexcinema. The Royal Yacht Britannia is moored alongside this shopping centre. At the end of our road are bus stops, from which the city centre can be reached within 25 mins. Edinburgh is an amazing city all year round. We also have our own small sailboat at South Queensferry, which we regularly go sailing on throughout the summer. As we have a cleaner, our au pair is only required to do very light household duties - put the clean dishes from the dishwasher back in the cupboards, hang up the clothes washing and do Alexander's ironing. As we are both airline pilots, we work varying shifts. Our au pair's two days off per week and working hours will vary from week to week but average around 30 waking hours. When we have standby duties, we are required to report to our crew room within 90 mins. On these days, our au pair may have free time but we require her to stay within the city and be ready to answer her phone! Being called out is very rare. Our rosters are generally very stable and our au pair will know which days and times she is working 4 weeks in advance. Ideally we would like our au pair to be available to stay with us until at least October as our work patterns are busiest from May until October. We have a lot of fun and a lovely life and look forward to welcoming our au pair to our little family.

You must be able to take sole charge for periods up to a week when parents are away-this happens 3-4 times a year. Must be able to provide good nutritional food for children, be driver and swimmer. The aupair will travel with the family in Europe and take holiday with them in US if she wanted to. This position will be a full on adventure with lots of perks and travel.
