SHORT TERM Family living in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, seek a summer aupair to help care for their 3 children aged 5 years, 5 years and 16 months old. Mother is at home and father is an estate agent. They live in a large 5 bedroom historical house with garden situated within 5 minutes drive to all the facilities. Cleaner employed. The aupair will have her own guest suite on the third floor with private bathroom. A driver is needed and the aupair will have sole use of a car. The family wish to find a Native French Speaking aupair. Start 01 May 2008 for 3-4 months. Hello. We are the Morris family from New Orleans, Louisiana U.S.A.. Two of our three children attend a bilingual school where French is the only language spoken outside of English class. Tour youngest child is not yet in school. We do not speak French in our home so it is important for us to have someone who is wiling to speak French with the children and English with us so that the children do not lose their French over the summer holiday. Anne is a stay-at-home mom and is looking for someone to help with the kids, not take over childcare duties. We both enjoy parenting and we enjoy being very involved with their everyday lives. We are not looking for someone to take over responsibilities like getting the kids ready for school and cooking for them. We just want some help. We still intend to take the kids to school and bring them home but it would be nice to have an au pair to help lighten Anne's load. We travel quite a bit as a family and we look forward to traveling with our au pair on holiday to the American West and to the beach and perhaps some international travel as well. Our au pair will have full use of one of our vehicles for her own transportation even when she is not working. Some weeks the work load will be heavier than others. We expect flexibility and we will be flexible in return. It is important that our au pair be willing to work most, but not all, Friday and Saturday nights. Again, we will be flexible, and many nights that we do go out on a Friday or Saturday, we will be home before the au pair would want to go out with her friends. We want our au pair to have time for her own recreational pursuits. We will introduce her to the other au pairs who live with families at the French school. While we have never had an au pair, we have had exchange students and we often have visitors in our home for extended periods of time. The au pair will have the third floor bedroom suite to herself. We are looking for someone that will be proactive in helping with the children and who doesn’t have to be asked. The age range we have specified for our au pair is a preference, not a hard rule. We will accept a younger or older au-pair if we feel that she is the right person. We would prefer to have an au-pair for four months but we will go three months if necessary. New Orleans is a lovely city and the music and restaurants here are wonderful. There is a major university less than two kilometers from our home.
